Visiting family in Idaho

I had the chance to visit my family in Idaho for a few days this summer. It was really fun to see all of the work my parents have done to their house. They are working really hard to make it their home. I was also able to spend time with my brother, his kids, and my grandma. We hiked through the Minnatonka Cave, had a raspberry shake at Bear Lake, and spent the day at the pool.

Scooter turns 6

Scooter turned six this June and this year he had 2 parties. The first one was for the neighborhood kids that like to play with him and his second party was for his family. He shared that party with Vito since their birthdays are so close. Of course he was showered with gifts. Can you guess what the cupcakes are? Paw prints, poop in the grass, poop in the snow, and poop in the sand. I know you are probably dying for the recipe so you can make them for your dog as well. Please email me and I will send it to you!

Ralph's Visit

Our friend Ralph came down from New Jersey for a weekend visit.  Vito and Ralph spent a day four wheeling, played a little golf and as you can see learned how to play the drums.  We also forced him to make homemade pizza.  It was yummy!!  It was nice to just hang out and visit.  The only thing that would have made it better, was if Kim and the kids were here (and of course Nala, Scooter misses her.)  Thanks for the fun weekend.  We'll be your way soon!

Charleston

We spent some time in Charleston S.C. during spring break.  It is a very beautiful town full of history.  It was neat to see all of the different architecture and colors they use.  The city was full of wonderful smelling flowers.  We will definitely be back.

Spring Break

We also camped a few days at Edisto Beach in South Carolina during spring break.  It is actually a protected estuary, therefore, there is not a lot of development there.  One interesting thing we learned about was the threatened loggerhead turtles (South Carolina's state reptile) .  They lay their eggs on the beach every summer and when ready, the babies swim out to sea. In years past they would get confused and follow the lights from the beach homes, end up on the streets, and possibly get ran over by a car.  Therefore the island has a very strict light ordinance.  Hopefully we will get back there during the summer to see the little turtles swim out to sea.
Enjoy the Video of Scooter swimming in the Atlantic Ocean.  Scooter's claim to fame is that he has swam in both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.  Which one will he conquer next?

Ferrari Saturday

If you know Vito well at all, you know that he loves cars, especially fast ones!  Last weekend Vito had the opportunity to drive a Nissan GTR, the Porsche 911 Turbo, and best of all the Ferrari  F430!!!  It was a dream come true for him and fortunately I was able to ride along with him.  We drove for an hour through winding country roads, north of Charlotte.  A bonus was that it was a beautiful drive.  I have included a trailer of the movie I made from the ride.  The full length film was too big so you will have to go to www.vitoandramie.com to view it!!!

It's a snow day!!!

I thought I would share a few photos from our first winter in North Carolina.  Most days it is warm enough for Scooter to swim in the nearby lake.  However, it does snow once in a while and yesterday it really snowed!!!   It was big real flakes that actually stuck to the ground.  I had a snow day from work and Vito couldn't get out of town so we just enjoyed being home.  Scooter was in heaven as he loves the snow.  I think it made him miss Colorado!!!
